The Sales Executive (Internal) plays a critical role in ensuring the team operates with pace, structure and commercial discipline.
Role Overview
The Sales Executive (Internal) supports the Key Account Manager and Pre-Construction Manager in driving opportunity progression, quotation coordination, CRM accuracy and structured sales execution.
This role combines:
- Proactive outbound sales activity.
- Pipeline and CRM management.
- Quote coordination and technical submission support.
- Commercial and administrative discipline.
- Cross-functional coordination.
- You are the operational engine within the Team of 3 — ensuring opportunities are qualified, processed accurately, and progressed with pace.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead Qualification & Opportunity Management:
- Qualify incoming enquiries using agreed GO / NO GO criteria.
- Ensure alignment with DATIM’s capability, capacity and commercial objectives.
- Identify additional tender opportunities and strengthen the pipeline.
- Progress live opportunities through structured follow-up activity.
- Maintain strong momentum on mid-to-late stage deals.
Outbound Sales Activity & Pipeline Progression:
- Conduct structured outbound activity to progress live opportunities.
- Maintain consistent meaningful sales interactions (MSIs).
- Proactively chase tender returns, decision timelines and technical clarifications.
- Track and progress ironmongery and bundled project opportunities.
- Support the KAM in increasing depth of engagement across stakeholder groups.
Quotation Coordination & Technical Support:
- Review incoming enquiry documentation for completeness.
- Engage clients to clarify missing or conflicting information.
- Convert architect door schedules into structured formats for quotation systems.
- Set up and maintain HubSpot and RTIS records accurately.
- Input data into quotation systems and coordinate estimated return dates.
- Liaise with Procurement for non-standard costings.
- Support ironmongery coding and cost alignment.
- Implement minor quotation amendments with urgency and accuracy.
- You act as the structured link between Sales, Estimating and Procurement to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
CRM & Data Discipline:
- Maintain accurate and live CRM records (HubSpot).
- Ensure all communications, updates and deal statuses are recorded.
- Prepare structured pipeline updates for weekly team reviews.
- Track probability movement and support forecasting visibility.
- Maintain organised filing and audit-ready documentation.
Sample & Submission Coordination:
- Prepare and coordinate sample boards for client presentations.
- Support technical and commercial submission packs.
- Ensure presentation materials align with DATIM brand standards.
- Assist in preparing documentation for framework and regulated submissions.
Process, Systems & Digital Efficiency:
- Maintain structured enquiry and quotation workflows.
- Use AI tools where appropriate to improve document handling and schedule conversion.
- Assist in identifying data gaps or inconsistencies across documents.
- Support continuous improvement of quotation and sales processes.
Collaboration Within the Team of 3:
- Work in daily alignment with your KAM and PC.
- Ensure opportunities are prioritised correctly.
- Provide backstop cover during absence to maintain workflow continuity.
- Attend weekly pipeline meetings and record actions.
- Support operational handover preparation when orders are secured.
- This role requires maturity, ownership and accountability within the team structure.
Daily Operating Rhythm (Typical Structure):
- Morning: CRM review, administration, enquiry qualification.
- Prime time: Outbound follow-ups, pipeline progression, client engagement.
- Afternoon: Quotation coordination, document preparation, system updates.
- End of day: CRM accuracy check, next-day preparation.
- The focus is on structured activity, not reactive administration.
Experience & Background:
- Experience in internal sales, sales support, estimating coordination or commercial administration within construction or manufacturing.
- Strong organisational and document-handling skills.
- Competent in Excel and CRM systems (HubSpot or similar).
- Experience with structured data handling and quotation systems advantageous.
- Exposure to Doorsets, ironmongery or building products beneficial (training provided).
